Observation forms are a shorter question set for when a volunteer sees someone they believe is experiencing homelessness but isn’t able to conduct a full interview.
What they’re used for
- Capturing a data point when a full interview isn’t possible
- Reducing undercounts in areas where stopping for everyone isn’t feasible
- Still getting a location and basic observations on the map
Requirements
Hyperion ships with a default observation form preloaded, so you don’t have to build it. You can customize the questions in the survey form editor like any other survey.
To turn observation forms on, enable the option when creating the survey for your PIT count.
Limitations
Note that becaue the forms do not collect information on things like veteran status you will likely want to use extrapolation for any observation submissions.
