Teams

Teams are optional geographic subdivisions of your CoC. You define a region — a polygon on the map — and each region becomes a team that volunteers can join or be pre-assigned to. Regions and teams are always 1:1.

What they’re used for

  • Assigning groups of volunteers to specific areas
  • Breaking out reporting and analytics by region
  • Running parts of the count under separate leads
  • Scoping admin access — PIT Leads only see data for the teams you assign them to

Requirements

Teams are available on the sophisticated plan. You’ll need to define the team boundaries as a KML file, most easily through Google My Maps — see Setting Up Teams for the walkthrough.

How it works

Each team name becomes a selectable option for volunteers, or can be assigned ahead of time through volunteer registration. Volunteers see their assigned team’s boundary on their map, and every submission is tagged with its team so you can filter analytics and exports by region.
